Embracing Lean principles
Schools play a crucial role in nurturing the future leaders and employees of tomorrow.
Traditionally, the education sector has not extensively explored lean principles. However, Jeremy Griffiths,Headteacher at Ysgol Gwynedd in Flint, recognized the potential benefits and, through a fortuitous encounter with TLMC, has inspired over 100 Headteachers and school leaders to embrace lean principle.

Lean training for schools
TLMC designed a bespoke course which helps link TPS principles to a school environment. Course participants spend one day at the TLMC facility followed by a day at a local school.
The curriculum included sessions on identifying waste, implementing 5S, and applying the Kanban method. The participants developed skills needed to integrate lean principles into an educational environments.
Results
The Headteacher from Mountain Lane Primary School in Buckley was inspired and returned to Deeside to share some of their successes.
